Crop Reports

Canada Crop Report - August 26, 2016

Most of Ontario has received adequate rainfall within the past 2 weeks. The exception is the Niagara region which remains a disaster. On average most varieties are in good shape with the exception on Kent which is mostly grown in the Niagara region. Crop stage is progressing rapidly. Early maturing varieties are starting to turn color and ripen. Crop condition is generally rated as good. Spider mites are still an issue in the dry areas as they continue to suck moisture from the leaves. There are some weeds coming through the soybean canopy which may need to be dealt with prior to harvest. This coming week is forecasted to be hot and dry.
