Huron is fully invested in ensuring that our soybean growers and buyers have access to the best possible seed for building their business.
Through our joint venture with Summit Genetics, Huron actively supports the development of the seed that best matches the goals of our customers. We advocate for new varieties that combine the right range of characteristics:
- To maximize return per acre for our farmers
- To meet targets for consistency, texture, sweetness, and yield per ton for our processors
Summit Genetics works closely with AAFC (Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada) and the University of Guelph to acquire and market the emerging varieties of non-GMO IP soybeans that match the needs of our customers.
